Abstract:Baijingou quartz vein gold deposit is located in Kaihuangbei area of the eastern Kunlun Mountains. This paper shows that the geochemical characteristics of the quartz in the gold deposit are closely related to gold mineralization.By comparison with the quartz formed during no mineralizing stages, the metallogenic quartz is of lower SiO2 contents, less negative Ce anomaly, higher contents of Cr2O3,FeO,Au and AgO(as well as Al2O3,K2O,Na2O,Bi2O5,Cu and Zn),higher REE fractionation, and positive Eu anomaly. The intensity of Eu is anomaly positively proportional to the mineralization.Admixture elements have no effect on the unit cell parameters which does not correlate with the gold mineralization. However, the unit cell parameter is closely related to the temperature and pressure conditions, that is,the less the unit cell parameter the higher the c0/a0,temperature and pressure. There are obvious differences in the unit cell parameters of the quartz from different stages. The unit cell parameter of the quartz in No.22 ore vein is higher than that in No.25 ore vein. The former was formed at earlier stage at a higher temperature and was denuded more slightly than the later.
